Northern Pass Workshop

Tomorrow (Tuesday), the lawyer representing the public on the Site Evaluation Committee's Northern Pass decision is holding a workshop in Ashland. The purpose is to identify areas of "beauty, use, history, and tradition" within ten miles of the proposed Northern Pass transmission corridor.

Here's a pdf with more information.

New Welfare Overseer

At the Select Board meeting on June 30, Don Pfaefflin resigned as overseer of public welfare, citing a full workload. Maureen O'Reilly, who has had experience with the job, stepped up and was sworn in.

You'll find the minutes here.

Chickens and Select Board

Sandi sent us this picture of her chickens in her backyard. If the chicks live up to their mothers' egg-laying feats, she'll have more of best eggs in New Hamphsire. (Click on the thumbnail for the full image.)

She also sent us minutes of the past two Select Board meetings, including discussion of Town House Road. You'll find the minutes here, as always.

Our Popular Mountain

Dorothy Heinrichs took this photo a little after 6 a.m. this morning. A couple of families were already on the summit and ledges. While we don't have statistics from the state, it seems as though Mt. Cardigan is getting more people than ever before. Who can blame them?

As always, we put this picture in the Photo Albums and welcome more from you.
