Dorothy Heinrichs gave us these unofficial notes. As always feel free to comment or get on the discussion board.
Michael Scala, a member of Senator 's staff came to introduce himself and to take a few questions. He covers Grafton, Carroll and Coos counties for the senator.
The meeting was fairly brief with just a few action items. The board reviewed Cross County Appraisal's Proposed contract for 2013. The rates are unchanged. The board signed the contract which Sandi will send to Cross Country once we are in receipt of proof of their liability coverage.
The board also approved a "Delegation of Deposit Authority" statement and a municipal investment policy, two things required by state statute which our town auditors pointed out we were lacking.
The board has requested that the Conservation Commission come up with a plan for helping town residents properly dispose of hazardous waste. It is anticipated that this will be an educational effort, not a collection.

The Select Board asked me check with my contacts in town to see if there is an interest in a hazardous waste drop off. The UVLSRC sets them up in town's that are central to the towns that request. If we join the town will need to pay some fee, (unknown at this time) You will need to take your waste to the location that is picking up on the day they will be there. Many of your waste such as electronics, medications and twirl light bulbs already have pickup places, Best Buy will take one electronic item per day. It is very easy, just bring it to the desk, they have a push truck that you put it on. that's it!! Medications, I am told, can be turned in at Walgreen's and DHMC Pharmacy. Light bulbs can be recycled at the store you bought them, or, Walmart, Home Depot, etc. This request is to see how many need to get rid of hazardous waste. Please let me know before December 25th (like you don't have enough to do) The Select Board need to know this to see if it would be worth while to join, by December 25th because they need to make a decision before January 1, 2013.
