The Wind Project Is on Hold

The Union Leader reports that EDP Renewables is delaying the application for the Spruce Wind project. “We’re not looking at submitting an application in the foreseeable future," project manager Jeffrey Nemeth told the paper. "It could be late this year, it could be next year, it could be two years from now." 

The Portuguese company had filed an application with the Federal Aviation Administration, and had announced plans to present the project to Orange and our neighboring towns during the first quarter of 2015. Nemeth claimed the delay has nothing to do with the overwhelming votes against the project. (Orange, with 94% voting against, was the most strongly opposed.)

So, for a while at least, we can take a breather.
