Special Select Board Meetings

The Orange Select Board is holding two special meetings, today (Friday), at 4pm; and Monday, October 12, at 5pm. The reason is to work on the MS-5, the financial form every town is required to fill out for the state. The Board will also be considering whether to have an independent firm conduct a financial audit. And "any other business."
Also today: If you want to change your party affiliation in time for the presidential primary, you need to do it in the Town House between 7pm and 7:30pm, October 30. (Apparently, this itty-bitty slot is mandated by the state.)

CORRECTION: We got the date wrong on changing party affiliation. It's October 30, not October 9. Thanks, Jason Azze, for the catch, and my apologies. -Jay

The Secretary of State's site says October 30th is the last day for party affiliation changes.
"The supervisors of the checklist in each town and city in New Hampshire must hold a session for correction of the checklist on Friday, October 30th between 7:00 - 7:30 p.m. In addition to registering new voters, this is the LAST DAY that registered voters may change their party affiliation prior to the Presidential Primary.
