Dorothy Heinrichs sent these in. They're her informal notes, and not the official minutes. We'll post theminutes after Sandi works them up and the Board approves them. As usual, you can use the discussion board or comment on this post to get your two cents in.
Should people conducting official business for the town of Orange be reimbursed? When? At what rate? The Select Board apppointed an ad hoc committee to look into the matter and make recommendations. You'll find the report here and the policy--officially approved by the Select Board--here.

The former Casperson land at Burnt Hill and Brock Hill Roads--now Green Acre Woodlands--has been put under a conservation easement. The 493 acres includes six tracts of unimproved forestland and abuts the 5,500-acre Cardigan Mountain State Forest.
Select Board Secretary Sandi Pierson has a copy of the deed if you'd like to see it.
For the second time in months, someone dumped a truckload of trash at the lower Cardigan Mountain parking area. (Click to see a full-size image.) Once again, the Orange Conservation Commission is coming to the rescue. Come help on the morning of Saturday, October 6. Chairman Scott Lurgio writes:
Clean up supplies like disposable gloves and contractor bags will be provided as we have inventory left over from last year.
We hope to meet at the Orange Town house at 9:30 AM for this event.
This size of the dumping is not overwhelming and we should be able to complete this task in a few hours.
In addition, I will be contacting the State regarding this issue as they did cover the expense for disposing of this waste at the Canaan Transfer station to support last years Clean Up efforts.
The town truck may not be available at the time of this event so we may chose to move the debris to the Town Staging area located near the Orange Basin off the Cardigan Road.
Scott Sandborn may be available to move the debris from the Staging area.
I can provide my truck to transport if needed.
