Orange does have a candidate for the Town's school board rep. Kathy Stacy, who has been serving, will be running again. 

We'd be happy to post other notices by candidates, along with anything that tells us what you'd do in office.

Opening for School Board Rep

The seat for Orange representative to the Mascoma District School Board is open this year, and we need a candidate or two to run for the office on the school ballot. The reward: fostering education in Orange, and $750 per year.

If you're interested, sign up at the Mascoma SAU office on Route 4 in Enfield (across the street from Dunkin Donuts) between 8:30am and 4:00pm. Deadline is January 30.

Correction: Kathy Stacy informs us that the School Board slot pays $700 a year, not $750. 

Voting Dates

Just a reminder to make sure these are on your calendar. (You can always check the town calendar for meeting dates, trash collections, etc.)

January 21 through January 30: File declarations of candidacy for town office.

February 3: Last day for the Select Board to accept petitioned articles for the 2015 warrant. Any petition needs at least ten signatures of registered voters, or 2% of the registered voters in Orange, whichever is larger. 

March 10: Voting Day.

March 11 Town Meeting, preceded by the potluck supper.

Offices Up for Election

The filing period for these positions is Wednesday, January 21, 2015 through Friday, 30 January, 2015 at 5:00PM. Candidates must file with the Town Clerk to have their names placed on the ballot.  Town Clerk hours are every Wednesday evenings 5:30 to 7:00pm at the Town House.  Town Clerk office will also be open Friday January 30 from 3:00 pm to 5 pm.
