The Tax Rate Drops (But Your Tax May Not)

This morning the Orange Selectboard met to set the tax rate for 2016 at $20.43 per thousand dollars of your evaluated property. That's a lower rate than last year; but many of us saw our property assessed at a higher value. So, to see what you'll pay, do the math.

• Municipal: $4.45
• County: $1.54
• Local Schools: $11.70
• State Ed: $2.74

Total: $20.43
